Boulder County, Colorado

We bring the pumpkins and style your porch.

Delivery is the easy half. The design is the part that matters, so we build the display on your steps, to your house, and clean up after ourselves.

Three steps, and you lift nothing

Going to the patch with your kids is one of the best things about October in Colorado, and we are not trying to replace it. We are for the porch you keep meaning to do and never get around to.

  1. Pick a package

Three sizes, priced by how many pumpkins go on your porch. We publish the count for each one as a range, so you know what you are paying for before you book.

  2. We deliver and style it

We arrive on your delivery day with everything, then design and build the display around your actual house: steps, walkway, planters. About ninety minutes. You do not need to be home, and we will text you a photo the moment it is finished.

  3. It is yours to keep

The pumpkins are yours. There is nothing to return, and we do not come back to collect anything at the end of the season.

Priced by the pumpkin

Every package includes the pumpkins, delivery, design and setup. There is no separate design fee at checkout. Counts are given as ranges because the Colorado harvest varies week to week. Prices shown are for Boulder County; see delivery zones below.

Two golden straw bales stacked on a Colorado porch step with orange and cream pumpkins resting on them.

Hay bale

A full size straw bale. The cheapest way to add height and give the display something to climb. Two bales change a flat porch completely, and most people take two.

$25 each

Mums

A large potted chrysanthemum in rust, gold or deep burgundy. Picked the morning we deliver.

$25 each

Grand Prize Pumpkin

One genuinely enormous field pumpkin, roughly 3 feet across. It takes two of us to carry. Already included in Fairy Tale.

$175

Neutral palette

Swap any package to heirloom whites, sage, blush and blue grey. Not a single orange pumpkin.

+$75
An all neutral porch pumpkin display in sage, bone and blush heirloom pumpkins with no orange.

The neutral collection

Plenty of houses here look better in bone, sage and blush than in traffic cone orange. Heirloom varieties only: Jarrahdale, Lumina, Porcelain Doll, white Cinderella.

About us

Pumpkin Fairy Colorado is based in Boulder County and serves the northern Front Range. Everything we install is sourced from Colorado growers.

The best part of this job is the text message that just says “WHAT.”

The idea came from doing it badly once, on our own porch. Three trips to the patch, and a display that still looked thin at the end of it. Volume is the whole trick, and volume is exactly the thing you cannot be bothered to do twice.

So we buy in bulk, we deliver across Boulder County and the Denver metro, and we build the display on your steps rather than leaving a pile by the door.

Boulder County, October.

If Colorado happens to your porch

Front Range weather is hard on an outdoor display. Re-staking and re-staging are services we offer, so if something happens to your porch, message us and we will come and sort it out.

Re-stake after a windstorm

Front Range downslope winds will rearrange a display across three gardens overnight. We build low and heavy for it. If it still goes, message us. Putting a wind-hit display back together is a service we offer.

Re-stage after snow

October snow here is unremarkable and pumpkins are fine underneath it. If a heavy fall flattens or buries the display and you want it rebuilt, re-staging is a service we offer.

Colorado grown pumpkins

Everything comes off Front Range farms rather than a distribution centre in another state. It is why the heirlooms look the way they do and why we can restock mid season.

The questions everyone asks

Do you take the pumpkins away at the end?

No. The pumpkins are yours to keep and we do not come back to collect them. When you are done with them, Boulder County curbside compost accepts whole pumpkins and most Front Range municipalities run a pumpkin drop off in early November. Check your own hauler's rules before the bin goes out.

Why is the count a range?

Because the Colorado harvest varies week to week and we buy your pumpkins fresh rather than holding stock. You will always get at least the bottom of the range, and often a few more. If a specific variety is not available that week we substitute the closest visual match at equal or greater value.

How long will the pumpkins actually last?

Through Halloween in a normal year. We are at 5,300 feet with intense UV and big day to night temperature swings, which ages pumpkins faster than in most of the country. That is why we build the season around 31 October.

What happens if it snows?

Usually nothing. Pumpkins are fine under snow and honestly look wonderful in it. If a heavy fall flattens or buries the display and you would like it rebuilt, re-staging is a service we offer. Message us and we will quote the visit.

Do I need to be home?

No. We just need to know where you would like the display and whether there is a gate code. You will get a photo the moment we are finished.

When does the season run?

Mid August to 31 October. Booking opens in August and the good weekends go first.

My HOA has rules about seasonal decoration.

A lot of the newer subdivisions in Superior, Louisville, Erie and Broomfield do. Send us the rule and we will design to it. We would much rather do that than have you take it down in week two.

Terms and refund policy

Short version: we buy your pumpkins for you, specifically, which means we cannot take them back.

No refunds, returns or cancellations

We do not hold stock. Every package is purchased to order from Colorado growers for your address, in the varieties, sizes and colours your package specifies. Once that material has been purchased for you it cannot be returned to the grower or resold, so all sales are final and we are unable to offer refunds, returns or cancellations once your order is placed.

Substitutions

Pumpkin availability depends on what the Colorado harvest gives us in any given week. If we cannot locate a particular pumpkin included in one of the packages, we may replace it with the closest possible alternative in terms of visuals, matching size, shape and colour as nearly as we can, at equal or greater value. The published count range for your package will still be met.

Counts are ranges

Pumpkin counts are published as ranges for the same reason. You will always receive at least the lower number in the range for your package.

Changes to a booking

Tell us as early as you can. Before we have purchased your material we can usually move your delivery date or change your package. Once the material has been purchased for your order, the package and the price are fixed.

What the price covers

The pumpkins, delivery to your address, and the design and installation of the display. Delivery outside Boulder County carries the surcharge shown in the delivery zones above.

Call-outs after installation

Re-staking after wind and re-staging after snow are additional services we offer rather than part of the original package. Message us and we will quote the visit before we come out.

Removal

We do not offer removal or collection. The display and the pumpkins are yours from the moment we finish the installation, and we will not return to collect them.

Things outside our control

Pumpkins are a fresh agricultural product installed outdoors at altitude. Wildlife, weather, UV and time will affect them. We build for Front Range conditions, but we cannot guarantee the condition of a display for any particular length of time.

Booking opens in August

The good weekends go first. Leave your email and you will hear before anyone else. One message, no newsletter.
